How to distinguish between "natural wooden pallets" and "plywood pallets"?
In import and export business, the most commonly used packaging is pallets, which also involve filling in during the document making process. Many people cannot distinguish the difference between natural wooden pallets and recycled wooden pallets. Today, we will briefly introduce the difference between the two.
Natural wooden pallet
1. What is a natural wooden pallet?
Answer: Natural wooden pallets refer to solid wood pallets directly processed from logs, including materials such as poplar, pine, and hardwood. Wooden packaging includes wooden crates, wooden crates, wooden pallets, wooden shafts, etc.
2. Why should natural wooden pallets be fumigated?
① International regulatory requirements: According to the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), all wooden packaging materials used for international trade must undergo appropriate quarantine treatment, and fumigation is one of the widely recognized methods.
② Preventing the spread of harmful organisms: Fumigation treatment can effectively prevent the cross-border spread of harmful organisms and protect forest resources and ecological balance in various countries.
③ Compliant with the requirements of the importing country: Many countries and regions have strict phytosanitary requirements for imported wooden pallets, and wooden pallets that have not been fumigated may not be able to enter the country.
Therefore, the purpose of fumigation is to kill harmful pests, diseases, and insect eggs that may exist in wooden boxes, in order to protect the agricultural and forest resource security of importing countries.
If wooden products have not been fumigated, the quarantine department of the importing country may detect pests and refuse entry. This not only leads to goods being stranded, increasing transportation and storage costs, but may also face serious fines and return risks, and even affect the reputation and future trade opportunities of the enterprise.
After reaching the standard of heat treatment, the tray is stamped with IPPC, and the letter HT in the lower left corner represents heat treatment. Due to the high-temperature drying process of heat treatment, as long as it is stored properly (with normal temperature and humidity environment), there is generally no expiration date.
Regenerated wooden pallet
1. What is a plywood pallet?
Plywood pallet, also known as composite board pallet, is a wooden material used for packaging that is artificially synthesized or deeply processed by heating, pressure, etc., such as plywood, particleboard, fiberboard, etc; Thin board rotary cutting cores, sawdust, wood fibers, shavings and other wooden materials, as well as wooden materials with a thickness of 6 centimeters or less. Plywood pallets are exempt from inspection and fumigation, and can be directly used as packaging materials for import and export.
2. Why not fumigate plywood pallets?
Non fumigated wooden pallets are made from plywood that has undergone high-temperature and high-pressure treatment. The finished plywood products are absolutely free from parasites or insects and their eggs. This effectively reduces the risk of biological invasion and does not pose a threat to agricultural and forest resources.
Therefore, fumigation free wooden boxes/pallets do not need to be fumigated when packaging for import and export.
Customs strictly stipulate that import and export boxes made of composite materials (plywood) without any solid wood will be released without inspection.
